Humility & Connectedness

Scripture:

Romans 12:3

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

Reflection:

Today I choose to feast on humility and connectedness.

Humility is a virtue that replaces pride. Connectedness is a practice that heals the wounds of abandonment and loneliness. Together, humility and connectedness allow us to see ourselves clearly. We are people made in the image of God and therefore connected to God to live in community with God and others.

Our worth comes from our identity as image-bearers - there is no need to be proud. We are fully loved and fully known by God - there is no need to feel alone. Embrace the good news of humility and connectedness that is available to you and celebrate your ongoing journey of restoration and healing in Christ.

Questions for Personal Reflection:

What stands out to me from my reflections this week? What might God still want to teach me?

How can I incorporate practices of humility and connectedness into my life today? How I continue these practices throughout my life?

Prayer:

Share with God any lingering thoughts, questions or feelings from this week. Thank God for the gifts of humility and connectedness that provide a path forward from pride. Ask God to help you practice humility and connectedness in ways that are life-giving.
